Playback Options

This opens the Playback Settings screen, where you can determine the size of the gap between songs, and the kind of transition you want between songs. You can select from standard, crossfade and gapless. See Playback Settings for more information. See Configuration Settings – Playback Settings for details.

Playback Filter

This feature allows you to filter the music that is playing. If for example you have decided to play all your Neil Diamond songs, you might not want to listen to his Christmas songs in July.

Filters allow you to Play Only or Skip a Playlist or Smartlist. By choosing a Playlist or Smartlist to "Skip", Media Center will pass over any files contained in that list while playing. By choosing a Playlist or Smartlist to "Play Only", Media Center will pass over any files not contained in that list while playing. This feature can be useful in multi-user environments where each listener has their own preferences, or to filter out music that is out of season.

The three options are:

1.

Do not filter;

2.

Play Only (and choose a Playlist from the list); and

3.

Skip (and choose a Playlist to skip).

To create a Smartlist specifically to use with filter, see Smartlists to Use with Filter.

Playback Zone

If you have multiple sound cards, you can create multiple Playback Zones using Zone Manager. Use this button to quickly swtich between Playback Zones. See Multizone Playback for details.

DSP Studio

The DSP Studio provides three tools for enhancing the playback of your files: an Equalizer, Playback effects, and Replay Gain. For information on DSP Studio, see DSP Studio.
