Where do imported files go?

All imported media go to two places: the "Recently Imported" Playlist, and Media Library.

"Recently Imported" Playlist

All imported files appear in the Recently Imported Playlist, under Playlists in the tree. By default, this Playlist will be cleared when you exit Media Center, and the Playlist will be deleted (don’t worry; it will automatically be re-created the next time you import files). To keep the Playlist, go to Tools | Options | General and uncheck “Clear ‘Recently Imported’ Playlist on exit“

Your imported files will also appear in three automatic Smartlists (Playlists | Auto Smartlists (music)):

•

Recently Imported – last 100 tracks

Media Library

All imported files go into Media Library, under Audio, Images, or Video, depending on the file types imported, and under any other View Scheme you may have created. See Media Library in Organize Files and Libraries for more information.
