Tree & View Settings

This is where you customize the look and organizational behavior of Media Center. You can rename or create your own database fields, set the “look” of the content pane, determine some aspects of tree behavior, change the size of cover art and image thumbnails, set the font used by Media Center, and customize the toolbar.

Library Fields

The list of all library fields, including custom fields. See Configure Library Field below for details on adding and editing fields.

Tree

Show Tree tooltips. Check this option to display yellow help boxes when you place your cursor over items in the tree.

Auto expand tree. If this option is selected, clicking on any item in the tree will expand it.

List

Show grid lines. Check this option to display grid lines in the content pane. This option requires MEGA-ME skinning.

Show track info tool tips. Check this option to display all database information for a track when hovering the cursor over the track in the content pane

Auto size columns. This will automatically re-size the columns in the content pane to fit the longest item in each column..

Auto save sort changes. Check this to save a particular sort order in the content pane (to make your sort order “stick”). You can also right-click the column header in the content pane and select “Save Current View”. Tip: to save your new sort order as a default, check this option, make your changes, then uncheck this option.

Sort track # for albums. When checked, tracks on albums will always be sorted according to the track number (regardless of any other sort order you may have). This option only works when you are looking at a single album.

Other

Toolbar. Remove items menus from the file menu, or add/remove icons from the toolbar. You can also choose to have selective text displayed with some of the icons. To change the order of icons or menu items, use the “Move Up” and “Move Down” buttons. Selecting "Reset" will revert to the default setting. You can also access "customize toolbar" by right clicking anywhere in the toolbar.

Font. Change the font used throughout Media Center.

Thumbnails. Select the size of thumbnails (medium is default) and the spacing between them. By default, Media Center displays the name below the thumbnail; you can change this behavior here. You can also erase all the thumbnails, or set Media Center to erase them upon exit
