Equalizer

Media Center incorporates a 10-band Equalizer that can modify the playback levels of any media files played by Media Center input plug-ins. If the input plug-in implements its own equalization, the active equalizer settings will be sent to the plug-in for equalization. The Equalizer also has a "preamp" setting that essentially increases or decreases the volume.

The Equalizer provides the ability to modify the playback levels of the track currently being played, and to load and save named (or themed) equalizer preset settings.

To open the Equalizer Settings, click on the Player Settings icon in the Player Window, select DSP Studio and then Equalizer.

Note: DSP functions are only available during the playback of an Audio CD if you have "Use Digital Playback" selected under Tools | Options | Device Settings. Some CD drives do not recognize digital playback. If you have a problem playing Audio CDs, try disabling this option.

Equalization Presets

Media Center provides several named (or themed) equalizer presets that can be used for playback of certain genres of media files. You can use these as is, or modify them and add to them to suit your needs. The following functionality is provided for equalizer presets:

"+" copies the preset

"-" deletes the preset
